Storytelling with Paint

These two fun-filled days are an exploration in choosing colors, shapes and patterns to create stories.  Whether a novice (never picked up a paintbrush? That's okay. No experience necessary!) or an expert, this workshop is designed to explore the fun and passion of painting without worry over technique or production.  Let loose and enjoy the process!  $200. All supplies provided.   Please be sure to indicate your preferred date when you register.

Adults Session dates:  August 8-9, 2011, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Children Session dates:  June 20 -21, 2011, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Requires parental permission slip which is provided upon registration.  Paid parental guardian not required. Bring a sack lunch and drink.
Mixed-Media Explorations

A one day intensive workshop focused on exploring mixed media painting and collage.  This is a sampler class using techniques with watercolor, acrylics, tempera and collage/assemblage using found items and found papers to create artwork. Fun, expressive, an inspirational doorway to new ways to be creative.  $125.  All supplies provided.

Tiffany Style Foiled Stain Glass Survey

There's nothing like beauty of light caught through a stained glass panel.  Students will learn the basics of cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering and finishing one Tiffany-style foil stained glass suncatcher.  Make a glass sampler suncatcher  with your choice of colored and textured glass and learn all of the skills you need to move on to bigger pieces of stained glass.  Learn several decorative soldering techniques. No prior experience is necessary. Closed toes shoes required!!  $185.  All supplies including glass is provided.  This is a one time class held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  A variety of dates for your session are available.  Please be sure to indicate your preferred date when you register.

We also offer 1 or 2 hour per session, 6 and 12 consecutive week art classes to Home School Consortiums, YMCA, and other after school programs, Scouts, Senior Centers and small groups of 4 or more.  Classes can be customized.

We offer fee-based open studio time to past students on an appointment basis.

Quik Fused Glass Jewelry

Students will learn to cut and grind glass, design jewelry pieces with a variety of techniques, and quik fuse the glass.  Students will leave class with at least three completed projects.  No prior experience is necessary. Closed toes shoes required!!  $125. All supplies including glass is provided.  This is a one time class held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday nights. A variety of dates for your preferred session are available.  Please be sure to indicate your preferred date when you register.

*Except where noted, participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult parent or legal guardian. No discounts for children. No children under the age of 8. Students may not bring non-paying guests to class.
All classes are held at  Pendleton Art Center, 1105 Central Avenue, Middletown, OH, Studio #117.
Art Camp for Adults

Having nostalgia for those carefree summer camp days?  This is an experience where "campers" will have a chance to explore painting, fused glass, artist trading cards and found object and paper collage/assemblage in a relaxed atmosphere.  $200. All supplies provided.  A variety of  session times available. Please be sure to indicate your preferred session when you register.

Session 1: July 25 - 28, 2011 Mon. - Thur. from 9 a.m. to 12 noon

Session 2: July 25 - 28, 2011 Mon. - Thur. from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Session 3: July 29, 30 and 31, Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
